DR3 Program Enhancement
To Serve You Better
Demand Response 3 Has Undergone Some Important Changes
Recent changes made to Demand Response 3 (DR3) make it more flexible and easier to participate in the program than ever. Key enhancements made to the program include:
New Hours of Availability
- New curtailment hours - noon to 6 p.m. all year - making it easier for offices, retailers and malls to participate.
The Removal of Minimum Account Sizes
- Aggregators are now able to open settlement accounts with less than 5 MW of participation commitment, allowing businesses to participate sooner.
- Aggregators can also enrol companies with multiple locations across all zones.
More Relaxed Data Collection Requirements
- Aggregators now have until April 1, 2011 to install Measurement Canada-approved five-minute meter data recorders, making it easier for businesses with smaller loads to enrol sooner.
Reduced Reliability Rate Test
- Load-shedding requirements have been reduced to 85 percent from 95 percent, giving participants more flexibility in meeting their commitments.
Greater Flexibility with Large Industrial Loads
- Aggregators now have the option of offering industrial loads downtime for both planned maintenance and summer shutdowns.
